Resolution Move PLATO Pathways from one server to another

Details

Resolution

Move PLATO Pathways from one server to another:

  1. Before you move Pathways from one server to another, back up the entire \PWAY folder that is on your existing server.

  2. After you back up your PLATO Pathways system (the entire \PWAY folder), create a PLATO share folder on the new server.

  3. Copy the \PWAY folder from your old server to the new server in the PLATO share folder you created.

Result: Your server name is now different.

  4. Map your workstation drives to the new server PLATO Pathways is located on.

  5. If you have a Windows server network with any Windows 2000 Professional workstations with Service Pack 1 or 2, Disable Opportunistic File Locking on your Windows 2000/2003 server.   (If your new file server has Novell NetWare installed, you do not need to disable opportunistic file locking.)
