What are the rights and permissions required to run PLATO Web Learning Network, courseware, or install plug-ins?

Product PLATO Web Learning Network
Issue When students log in as student (non-administrator) users to PLATO Web Learning Network at workstations that have not been updated with the latest plug-in, the latest plug-in should automatically download and install. If modify permissions are not applied to the student user login, the latest plug-in will begin to download and install, but the process will not complete. A message indicating the installation did not complete successfully may display. Most likely, users will still be able to log in to Web Learning Network, but problems may occur when they try to run the latest courseware.
Cause Local workstation profile not set to allow users to modify required files and folders
Resolution Give user "modify" permissions to correct folders to install plug-ins and run PWLN

Change permissions to "modify" for your network login for these folders:

Windows XP workstations

C:\WINDOWS\PWLN
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MACROMED
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ADMINISTRATOR\LOCAL SETTINGS\TEMP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ADMINISTRATOR\LOCAL SETTINGS\TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES

Windows 2000 workstations

C:\WINNT\PWLN or C:\WINDOWS\PWLN
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\MACROMED or C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MACROMED
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ADMINISTRATOR\LOCAL SETTINGS\TEMP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ADMINISTRATOR\LOCAL SETTINGS\TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES
